Abbas Derissi

Abbas Derissi, the Iranian Master Painter, sculpturer and graphic artist is one of Iran's most talented contemporary painters. Mix Surrealism, Abstract and Modern Art with a dash o Shiraz and what do you get? Abbas Derissi in the flesh! Son of Shiraz, the city of art, now residing in San Diego, Abbas has been one of Iran's leading painters for over 2 decades. His paintings are eye-catching and makes you think about the depth of the messages hidden in each.

Please notice that there are 2 small men standing somewhere (mostly corner) of each Derissi piece (look for them). This is Derissi's TradeMark. What does it mean, you ask? It means to show:

a) How small is human in comparison to the universe.
b) Derissi, same as myself is a believer in "Philosophy of Two", meaning that one person's hands has no sound, but two persons' hands can make sounds which everyone can hear. Spirit of Cooperation is the key word. Self-centeredness must be put away and unification must be established.
