The Mirror
Dark Persian Poetry

Ahreeman X

It was a mystical night, captured by the shadows …

In the mirror on the wall, I saw a glow.
The voice in the glass, spoke to me very slow.
Hear yee, hear yee, you in the shadow.
Lend me your ears and grasp the flow:

Doc this poem is so deep

Cat thanks for posting. This poem is mesmerizing and deep. Surely you wrote this poem after the defeat of 2009 uprising of the Iranian people against the IRI. So many comrades fallen and so many hearts broken. It was a catastrophic time for the opposition and freedom movement. I remember our states of minds were torn apart. This poem is a roller coaster of mystery, thriller and self discovery. It can’t get darker than this. You’re a great poet Doc and I have always been a great fan of your poetry. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Love you
Bita

Hi Bita nice to hear from you. You said it girl. Ahreeman’s poems are taking the reader for a ride on a thriller show.
:Candle:
I think Ahreeman is the Persian version of Edgar Allan Poe but Ahreeman’s poems are so original and unique to his own. Ahreeman creates other poetry than dark but his specialty is dark poetry. When we speak of Ahreeman’s poetry, we mean dark poetry or as we refer to it the Ahreemanic Dark Poetry. I like how Ahreeman rhymes and I surely love how Ahreeman tells a story from the beginning and keeps you in suspense until the end when he unveils the mystery. Ahreeman’s poems are like a psychological thriller or a horror mystery. His style is so unique and wonderful to read.

Doc we love your dark poetry, you are the master of dark poetry.

What I Believe? 3rd Edition + Poetry Review

Postby Atusa Qajar » Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:49 pm

What I Believe? 3rd Edition + Poetry Review

My interest is poetry and what is significant about this poem is how Ahreeman starts with Modern Poetry of no rhymes and then moves on to Classical Poetry of rhymes. He mixes and matches the poem in a way that I have never seen done before.

People either write modern poetry or classical poetry. Either stick with classics like Khayyam, Ferdowsi, Hafez and Sa’di or stick with Moderners like Naderpour, M. Omid, Forough Farrokhzad and Sepehri but you don’t let these two styles cross.

Where Ahreeman’s poetry in “What I Believe?” lines up are areas of gray and unknown territory. It is not done before. Maybe that is the reason for many remarks and emails from fans on this poem. This poem is nothing new. This poem is an old poem but after all these years, it is still so powerful and in demand to the point that readers asked for it over and over. It is also a funny poem. When Ahreeman wrote this, it was a bomb shell. It blew up on the net. The mastery, the art, the humor and the weird style captured people’s attention. Still, people read it and email about it. So, we publish the 3rd edition, a new edition.

Doing untraditional tasks is nothing new with Ahreeman. He doesn’t follow a pattern and style of poetry.

In one poem, he writes classical

The Mirror
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/poetry/mirror/index.htm

In one poem he writes modern

Shangri-La
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/poetry/Shangri-La/index.htm

In one poem he writes old English style, backward sentences

A Nightmare, Together We Share
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/poetry/nightmare/index.htm

And in one poem like this, he goes mix and match modern and classic poetry styles

What I Believe?
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/poetry/believe/index.htm

You never know what he will do next!

He is so unpredictable and fresh but whatever he does is food for poetry lovers.

Many of his emails are his poetry fans. When he is not around, out of town or abroad, he wants to have nothing to do with computers, net and electronics. As his secretariat I read his emails and prioritize them, so when he gets back, they are in order to read and to respond. I can see how many poetry related emails he gets per month. It is very interesting for me to see his poetry effect on the fans and readers.

So, I love poetry, all types of poetry, particularly Persian poetry. For sure I love Ahreeman’s poems

A Nightmare, Together We Share! Poem – New 3rd Edition

A Nightmare, Together We Share! Poem – New 3rd Edition

Doc

Cat posted this one, the new edition:

A Nightmare, Together We Share!
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/poetry/nightmare/index.htm

I read it again,
I cried again,
I don’t want to be sentimental but every time I read this poem, I cry, can’t help it. This poem is so deep and way too dark but it is one of the most nationalistic, nostalgic and emotional poems which I have ever read.

Bravo Doc
This one is eternal
You surely know how to play with people’s emotions
You surely know how to make people tick
