Nowruz Money Back Home
Memories of Nowruz
Faravahar Seal of Darius the Great on the Imperial Iranian Currency
10 Rial (1 Tooman) of the Imperial Era, Iran 1953 to 1959
Can you believe that back then they made currency (not coins) for 1 Tooman?!
On 1959 Tooman was under the rate of 7 Tooman = $ 1 because on 1977 Tooman was at the rate of 7 Tooman = $ 1. Those were the good old days of the Iranian economy! Back in 1977 we used to criticize the Imperial Regime for Tooman being at the rate of 7 Tooman = $ 1 and we demanded for Tooman to be $ 1 and equal to the dollar! We had no clue that one day in the future; Tooman would become worthless! Thanks to IRI that day is today!Faravahar History and Art Galleries - 5 Chaptershttps://iranpoliticsclub.net/art-litera ... /index.htmIt is the Persian Cultural Month of March and we are speaking of the sweet memories.
It’s a tradition to give brand new uncirculated currency as Nowruz presents to the kids. I remember back in Iran, our parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, family and friends of the family always gave us cash money. Those unfolded fresh smelled cash money were the best. I still remember the smell of the fresh brand new Tuman currency from the banks. It did not matter if they gave 10 Tumans, 20 Tumans or 100 Tumans but what mattered was that the Tumans were fresh out of the bank. They smelled great. The fresh smell of the new money was amazing even if they were 2 Tumans. Remember the special editions of the Imperial 2 Tumans from Shah’s time?
Today in abroad the traditional Persians still give money to the kids, fresh money, unfolded and uncirculated. They even throw money in the sky and above the kids heads so the kids fight each other to grab more currency. It is a game of fun and greed between the kids. There is always an uncle, a great uncle or grandfather who always throws money in the air for the kids to race to grab. Whoever grabs the most is the winner.
These days everyone gives presents and throwing currency in the air is still a tradition but today’s dollars, pounds or other currencies can never replace the old Tumans! The Imperial Tumans were great. Back then each Dollar was equal to 7 Toomans but now over 40,000 Tuman is one dollar. Mullahs destroyed everything in Iran including the value of Tuman.
Aren’t Mullahs and Democrats the same? Mullahs destroyed Iran and Democrats destroyed America. People inside Iran by majority love America and they love Trump but they do not trust Democrats and they more or less hate characters like Carter, Obama and Biden. How ironic that the Iranian Americans are by majority Democrats! Iranians in Europe and Africa are also not fond of Democrats and Liberals. It is only in America that the Iranians are Democrats.
As Ahreeman states, it is time to leave the Liberal Plantations. Iranian American Democrats may they be Iran Lobby, Uninformed, Plantation Operators (Silicon Valley) or just leftist must leave the plantations because they are on the wrong side of the history.
Money is not money. No cash dollars can ever replace the memory of the fresh Tuman currencies, unfolded and new, right out of the bank which our parents and grandparents given us back in Imperial Iran. Back then Tuman had value and meant something. Our favorite presents were cash Tumans.
Back then Fresh smell of unfolded bank notes brought the news of Nowruz and meant a world to our young hearts. Back then we were kids and innocent. Back then life was simple, life was good and we lived life in full. Back then, life was good and we made the best of life.
I remember the old scent of fresh bank notes on Nowruz. I still remember and will remember forever.
