Rita Yahan Farouz (Rita Jahan Forouz) (1962- present)
Rita
Rita is the most successful singer in Israel, today. She burst onto the Israeli music scene in the early 1980s and hasn't slowed down. Her voice is very powerful and theatrical. In fact, a while back, Rita stared in Israel's Hebrew version of My Fair Lady. Rita is a known International Star in World's Music.
Singer Rita is occasionally known by her married name of Kleinstein, but rarely by her maiden Persian name, Yahan Farouz. Born in Iran, she immigrated with her family to Israel as a young child. She studied singing and acting and was perceived as someone with significant talent and potential. She released her first album in 1986 and almost instantly achieved great fame in the world of Israeli popular music. She has represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest, has performed extensively abroad, and has gained international acclaim. In addition to music, Rita has starred in leading theatrical productions, among them Habimah's staging of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She is married to Israeli songwriter Rami Kleinstein.
In each of her albums, Rita always sings a song in Persian.

Moshe Katsav was born in 1945 in Iran. He immigrated to Israel in 1951. Married to Gila, father of five, he has lived in Kiryat Malachi since 1951. Mr. Katsav is a traditional old time Persian man.

A Kurdish Iranian Origin, immigrated to Israel, Mordechai, a major Israeli political figure. commander of Paratroopers, a great military commander, granted many medals of courage in battles, Mordechai is a fine patriot.

Shaul Mofaz (Shaul Moufaz) (1948 - present )
Lt.-Gen. Shaul Mofaz, born in Iran in 1948, is married with four children. He immigrated to Israel in 1957. In 1966 he joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and as a paratrooper, in the Six-Day War he fought in the Negev. He then filled command positions in the Paratroop Brigade. He commanded the Paratroop Reconnaissance Unit and a paratroop battalion, served as a Deputy Paratroop Brigade Commander, and commanded the Paratroop Brigade. During the 1982 Operation Peace for Galilee, he was an infantry brigade commander. He received a BA in business administration from Bar-Ilan University and attended the Command and Staff College of the US Marine Corps. Subsequently he served as the Commander of IDF Officers School.
