A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection to at least one of the two shooting deaths amid the unrest Tuesday night in Kenosha, Wis., Illinois police confirmed on Wednesday.
Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested in his hometown of Antioch, Ill., Wednesday on suspicion of intentional first-degree homicide, Commander Norman Johnson of the Antioch Police Department said. Antioch is about 20 miles southwest of Kenosha.
Rittenhouse was a “fugitive of justice” and “fled the state of Wisconsin with the intent to avoid prosecution” on a first-degree intentional homicide charge filed in Kenosha County, according to court records in Lake County, Ill., obtained by Fox News.
The shootings unfolded amid protests over Jacob Blake, a Black man shot during an encounter with Kenosha police last Sunday.
Two people were killed and a third was sent to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after the shots rang out near 63rd Street and Sheridan Road around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Kenosha Police Department said in a statement.
Cellphone video circulated on social media showing a young, White male running down the street with a long gun, as he was chased by demonstrators from behind. He fell to the ground, and someone tried to grab his weapon and came at him with a fly-kick. The individual then opened fire in the middle of the street, and screams could be heard from the frantic crowd.

Kenosha Police said early Wednesday morning they are looking for a man allegedly armed with a long gun after two people were shot and killed overnight and a third injured during violent riots over the shooting of Jacob Blake.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, one victim had been shot in the head and another in the chest late Tuesday, just before midnight.
The victims have not been identified.
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth told the outlet didn’t know where the other person was shot, but video posted on social media suggest someone had been wounded in the arm in the Wisconsin city.

“We cannot allow the cycle of systemic racism and injustice to continue,” said Evers, who is facing mounting pressure over his handling of the unrest. “We also cannot continue going down this path of damage and destruction.”

Kenosha is about 30 miles south of downtown Milwaukee.
Authorities arrested at least two people while investigating a fire at a library, officials said, and National Guard troops helped patrol the city Monday night.
Hundreds of protesters filled the streets of Kenosha some two hours past curfew. Some tossed fireworks into a line of police officers at a courthouse, which drew smoke bombs and flash-bang grenades in response. A garbage truck burst into flames after a rioter tossed an incendiary device.

“It appears an armed citizen was defending the car dealership and opened fire on the rioter who was attempting to vandalize or burn the dealership down,” Hernandez wrote on Twitter. “Before this shooting took place, the rioters were planning to burn down their ‘next car dealership.'”
In another, possibly related incident, a large group began chasing a man with a rifle down a street. The man falls and is attacked. However, he manages to roll with his rifle and shoots a man who tried to take his weapon away from him. Then, he appears to shoot another man at near point-blank range.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday in an interview he believed the activist group Black Lives Matter was a “Marxist group.”
Trump recalled the mantra of Black Lives Matter when they first started chanting “pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon.”
“All of a sudden this has taken on this air of great respectability,” he said. “Well, how does it start there? It’s a Marxist group that is not looking at good things for this country.”
The president spoke about the group in a phone interview with Fox and Friends on Wednesday morning.
Corporate interests have donated over a billion dollars to social justice organizations including Black Lives Matter in response to the George Floyd protests that occurred in the summer, despite their radical agenda. Major League sports organizations have also rallied to their cause, as the majority of coaches and athletes are now kneeling during the national anthem in protest wearing “Black Lives Matter” shirts.
“I think it’s disgraceful,” Trump said. “It’s not acceptable to me. When I see them kneeling, I just turn off the game.”
The president noted ratings for professional basketball and baseball were “way down” amid the ongoing protests.
“We have to stand up for our flag we have to stand up for our country, we have to stand up for our anthem,” Trump said. “And a lot of people agree with me — hey if I ‘m wrong, I ‘m going to lose an election OK and that’s OK with me — but I will always stand for our country and our flag.”

Just a few hours ago, the Democrat-run city of Chicago was added to this list due to five hours of highly-organized marauding along the Windy City’s legendary Magnificent Mile. As of this writing, the chaos is so bad, downtown has been closed, public transportation has been shut off, both bridges into downtown have been raised, freeway off-ramps have been closed.
Anyone familiar with Chicago traffic can only imagine the nightmare Monday morning commuters are facing as they try to get to work.
As bad as all of this is, thanks to the real journalists covering this left-wing terror campaign (like the indispensable Andy Ngo), and citizen journalists, I’ve noticed that more and more residential areas are now under attack.
Up till now, the terrorists — and for good reason — have mostly contained their rioting, arson, and assaults to downtown areas and business districts. This makes sense because these areas are usually closed down for the night, are empty of people, and serve as perfect political targets as they represent the capitalism these socialists despise.
In the past, while we have seen the terrorists move into neighborhoods, it has been in search of political targets like a city mayor or police chief … or a Tucker Carlson.
As of late, though, the terrorists’ tactics have shifted — not to political targets in residential areas, but to residents in residential areas…

Dueling demonstrations gather in downtown Portland on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020. Groups like Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer showed up to oppose monthslong demonstrations against systemic racism and police brutality.
Protesters at Portland rallies to show support for police and President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign engaged in physical combat repeatedly with counter protesters Saturday without police intervention. Members of the chaotic crowd used an array of weapons, including baseball bats and firearms to beat and threaten those they opposed.
Portland has once again become a focal point for activists of opposing ideologies, following Trump’s repeated characterizations of the city as dangerous because of nightly Black Lives Matter protests. After Friday night protests that saw some people damaging police vehicles and police responding with arrests, Trump tweeted it was “another bad night of Rioting in Portland, Oregon.”
The president and his supporters have been consistently critical of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and other city leaders for not using police more aggressively to tamp down the nearly three months of nightly demonstrations over the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Jason Washington, Quanice Hayes and other people who are Black.

“We’re here in support of law and order, and our city,” demonstrator Brooke Reynard said. “We don’t feel that violence is necessary to bring about peace, because Martin Luther King did not use violence in his civil disobedience.”
However, that sentiment toward nonviolence was short lived.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1297245431710093312Pro-Trump demonstrators, people carrying shields with references to the QAnon conspiracy theory and members of the Proud Boys — a self-described chauvinist group that regularly engages in violence — all gathered around noon, some carrying rifles. The various rallies were held under banners such as the “No Marxism in America Rally” and the “Trump 2020 Cruise Rally.”

Counterprotesters from anti-fascist groups like Popular Mobilization PDX also gathered Saturday, and the two groups quickly began shouting at each other and engaging in tense, face-to-face confrontations in front of the Multnomah County Justice Center.
Within an hour of meeting, protesters began to push each other and throw objects. Some demonstrators on the pro-police side fired paintball guns and deployed pepper spray on counterdemonstrators. Other protesters used baseball bats. Many people wore helmets and body armor as they punched, kicked and tore at each other.
At least one pro-police demonstrator was filmed pointing a firearm at counterprotesters.
After several rounds of physical confrontations, the Portland police warned around 1:45 p.m. that if people did not stop, law enforcement would declare the protest an unlawful assembly.

By 2:30 p.m., most of the pro-Trump supporters retreated from downtown. Video posted online showed Portland police had started to gather in the area, but they did not intervene before counterdemonstrators drove the other protesters out of the area. Police declared an unlawful assembly at 2:50 p.m.
In a press release distributed Saturday afternoon, Portland police said its officers did not intervene to stop the fighting because those involved “willingly” engaged, its forces were stretched too thin from policing 80+ nights of protests, and the bureau didn’t feel the clashes would last that long.
“Each skirmish appeared to involve willing participants and the events were not enduring in time, so officers were not deployed to intervene,” the release states.
“PPB had to be judicious with our limited resources today especially since many of our members worked during the riot this morning and had very little sleep,” said Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell in the release.
Police said they did not declare a riot because they didn’t have the resources to handle one. After pro-Trump demonstrators left and counterprotesters returned to Terry Schrunk Plaza, federal officials declared an unlawful assembly.

Ahead of the weekend rallies, the FBI said it had received a bomb threat against federal buildings in Portland. The agency said it was still assessing the credibility of the threat Friday, and closed federal buildings through the weekend as a precaution.
