Memories

It is time for a tribute to a great human being, a valuable member of the opposition, a superior artist, the one whose life was cut short by the Islamic Executioners of Qom! I will do my best to translate some of his poems and lyrics in to English so it will still bring out the deep meaning in Persian!

So, I am sitting in my recently redecorated new office, piles of work and papers piled up on my desk, lot to do, yet something is missing! I am feeling the same old hole, that empty hole in my soul, I don't feel like doing anything today! Why does my soul feel so bad today? Why Moody Blue today?! I feel the same old huge hole in my soul while one of Farrokhzad's old "Mikhak-e Noqrei" (Silver Carnation) variety shows from old Iranian National TV archives is playing on the video. He even continued his show as "Mikhak-e Noqrei-ye Shekaste" (Broken Silver Carnation) in exile, along with his political speeches and struggle from town to town. So, he is hosting this show but suddenly a song by Fereydoun Farrokhzad. Fereydoun is taking me back to my old memories....... They say I live in the past; I should become up-to-dated! What can I say? I want to remember the good old times! Only the good times.

Damn, I'm in one of my melancholic moods today, how can I get out of this mood?! I feel like choking somebody, so I can get out of this mood! Moody blue indeed. But this one, so sad, it is a damn sad song, and my burden of blues becomes ten times worst by remembering this one ......

Fereydoun Farrokhzad, The Real Story!

In 1992, Islamic Republic's Goons primarily stabbed (17 times) and then beheaded the great son of Iran, Fereydoun Farrokhzad at his apartment in Bonn, Germany. His crime was insulting Islam, Shiite, Imams and Ayatollah Khomeini. Farrokhzad was legendary for his passionate nationalistic speeches, shows and songs. Fereydoun's sisters are Pooran Farrokhzad and the famous Persian poet, Forough Farrokhzad. Fereydoun was married twice (1st German wife and 2nd Persian wife) and he has a son named Rostam.

Fereydoun Farrokhzad was born in Tehran, Iran. His origins are from Tafresh and his family has deep Tafreshi roots. He graduated from Dar al Fonun High School and then University of Munich in Germany. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science. He wrote various papers and books of political science and poetry. He spoke German, English, French and Persian. Fereydoun is buried in Bonn, Germany.

His ultimate goal was to unite the Iranian Opposition against the IRI. Even though he had great intentions, yet many accusations and insults started to flow his direction. For instance, he threw telethons for various political or charity reasons and they called him a thief! These accusations were basically due to jealousy towards his popularity amongst the masses. Many used to criticize and insult him for his flirtations and promiscuous behavior (womanizing) with many women, also his sexual preferences (Bisexualism) and called him all types of names. Fereydoun Farrokhzad's bedroom habits with women and men had nothing to do with the fact that he was a great entertainer, artist and a solid opposition member. Due to his leftist background and political stands, some Monarchists used to also badmouth him.

Farrokhzad was responsible for jump starting the careers of many famous singers of Iran. He started them off and helped them take off their careers from his many Variety Shows. Amongst these stars are Ebi, Shahram Shab-Pareh, Martik, Maziyar, Dariush, Neli, Soli, Simin Ghanem, Fereydoun Foroughi, Shohreh, Shahram Soulati, Aki Banai, and many more … His latest protégé was Saeed Mohammadi whom he performed with in his concerts.

Fereydoun Farrokhzad was a generous and giving person whom loved camaraderie, friendship and nationalism. His life was his friends and Iran. I primarily knew Fereydoun Farrokhzad through my father. Fereydoun was one of the warmest and most sensitive human beings whom I ever known.

Fereydoun Farrokhzad's Politics

Allow me to clear the air here.

Recently, there has been an attempt to portray Fereydoun Farrokhzad as a Monarchist! The false information garbage is written all over the net including in Wikipedia. Let me clearly state here that Farrokhzad was never a Monarchist! Farrokhzad was a dear friend of the family, so I should know.

Lately Monarchists have been creating video clips of Mohamad Reza Shah Pahlavi, Imperial Generals and other monarchist characters and emblems and then add Fereydoun Farrokhzad's songs as the background music to these videos. Once an Iranian youth with no background in history, watches these videos, he may automatically assume that Farrokhzad was a Monarchist! The truth is far from it!

Before 1979, while Fereydoun lived in Iran, he was a critic of the Monarchy and the social system of Iran. After 1979, when he was forced to exile, same as myself, he cooperated with all opposition groups including the monarchists to bring down the IRI. Fereydoun worked with all opposition forces, monarchists not excluded. This does not automatically brand Fereydoun as a monarchist!

In fact, Fereydoun Farrokhzad was a lifelong Socialist. All you have to do is to purchase his album "The Sun Rises" (Aftab Mishavad) and hear the depth of his strong Socialist beliefs. Fereydoun Farrokhzad was a heavy critic of monarchy and the monarchial system. While he lived in Iran (before 1979) he was always troubled with social limitations, favoritism (Party Bazi), lack of freedoms and superficial moral system imposed by the monarchial regime. Fereydoun was always blackballed in Iran! In his own ways, he was always rebelling against the system. He was criticizing the system and the regime in a nutshell. He was the top showman of Iran with many TV and Radio shows, heavily popular with the masses and he tried to make changes from the within. For more information on making changes from the within, read:

Amir Abbas Hoveyda, The Orchid Man

Once out in exile, Fereydoun started a heavy political campaign against the Mullahs, Islamic brainwash and the Islamic Traditions.

28 + Years of Brain Wash!

Throughout his campaigns, concerts, rallies, and political speeches, he tried to maintain a solidarity with all Anti Mullah groups including the monarchists.

Many monarchists who criticized him in Iran, were now criticizing him in exile! In his 1980s London Concert, a group of monarchists were constantly shouting, screaming and interrupting his speech. Like shouting "Javid Shah" (Arbadeh Keshi), monarchist style, was not enough, a monarchist tried for few times to interrupt his speech. Finally, this monarchist stood up and screamed:

Monarchist:
"Mr. Farrokhzad, you don't have the picture of Shah (Mohamad Reza Pahlavi) and Reza Shah-e Dovom (Reza Pahlavi Jr.) behind you on the wall. They say you did not want the concert management to hang their pictures on the wall. They say you don't like Reza Pahlavi II. Is that true?"

A number of monarchists never wanted unity, but they desired to interrupt the concert. Fereydoun was much smart to allow them succeed in their plans. So Fereydoun gently smiled and stated behind the microphone:

Fereydoun:
"They say what?"

Monarchist:
"They say you don't like the Shah, is that true?"

Fereydoun did not say a word but gently smirked in his face and then looked around to the band and the masses with a big smile. Then the crowd started to laugh and cheer. Without saying a word, Fereydoun said a thousand words! What he meant by this action was that:

"I am conducting these concerts and speeches for solidarity to end IRI, why would I intentionally be against and dislike a particular group (Monarchists) of the opposition?"

Later on, in the show, he said (indirectly to the monarchists):

Fereydoun:
"Do not try to force your opinion on the masses. Mullahs do plenty of that! Try to capture the hearts of the people by allowing democracy to bloom. Allow everyone to talk and express their opinion. Try to capture the hearts of the people, so the people will like you."

Fereydoun Farrokhzad was not a monarchist but he believed that the Imperial Iran (Disease) was much better than the Islamic Republic of Iran (Death) and so do I. So, if believing in this fact, makes one a monarchist, then both Farrokhzad and I are monarchists!

Throughout his concerts, Fereydoun Farrokhzad had never risen or hung the pictures of Shah or Reza Pahlavi on the walls! The only thing he hung on the walls behind him and above his head, was the tricolor flag of Iran with the lion, sun and the sword emblem. The only thing he waved next to him, was the Persian Flag, the old Persian Glory.

Fereydoun Farrokhzad was never a monarchist. If anything, he was a big critic of the monarchy and the monarchial regime. Fereydoun was a lifetime Socialist and later in life he had become a solid Nationalist. So primarily he was a leftist whom later in life become a rightwing Nationalist.

Fereydoun Farrokhzad Talk Show

Masses of Iran, please do not allow monarchists to portray our Nationalist Heroes as their own! Almost every single monarchist hero was not even a monarchist! These heroes were solid Nationalists but not monarchists. The reason that they did not speak ill of the monarchy was due to the monarchial suffocation and oppression during the end of the Qajar era and of course the complete Pahlavi era.

Let me clearly state here that these legends were not monarchists, but they were solid Nationalists:

Reza Shah The Great (Closet Republican)
Dr. Shapour Bakhtiar (Closet Nationalist)
Dr. Kourosh Aryamanesh (Closet Nationalist)
Dr. Fereydoun Farrokhzad (Closet Socialist)

Then you may ask, why were they openly working and living under the monarchy? I ask you, what other choice did they have? If they wanted to work and live in Iran, then they had to approve the monarchy or else they had to leave the country!

For God's sake, the head of the Pahlavi Dynasty, the starter of the Pahlavi Dynasty, Reza Khan, himself was a Republican but he could not dare to go against the monarchists and end the monarchy to start a republic! For more information, read:

Reza Shah The Great, The Real Story

So due to the thug behavior of the monarchists, people had to give in to the monarchy!

Today, monarchists are trying to taint the legacy of this freeman, Fereydoun Farrokhzad, and portray him as a monarchist. All you have to do is to cruise around the Internet and view some of the homemade videos they montage and put Fereydoun's songs as the background to the films of Shah and the Imperial Generals! Do not fall for these traps. Masses of Iran are much smart to buy these monarchist filthy lies. Here are all I have to say about the Monarchy:

Reasons for the Birth of Islamic Republic of Iran

Role of 21st Century Monarchs and Monarchists

This poem and the song which has made out of it, was dedicated to the Air Force General Ayat Mohaqeqi, the brave son and soldier of Iran and the Theoretician of the Nozhe Uprising, also all the brave sons and daughters of Iran who were executed by the Islamic Regime for their Nozhe Uprising. For more information read:

Portrait of a Legend

Dr. Fereydoun Farrokhzad, Iran's leading TV Showman, Singer, Poet, Artist, Political Scientist and Opposition Member wrote this poem for Heroes of Nozhe. Later on, Fereydoun, himself was assassinated in Germany by the Islamic Regime. Fereydoun became a legend.

Warmates
Translation by Ahreeman X

Warmates, Warmates were human and free
Men and women of pride and modesty
Had put themselves amongst the nation's unrest
Warmates, Warmates

Their coffins, were the tri color Flag of Iran
In their minds, nothing but a promise and a pact
The pact which would charge them in the battlefield
Warmates, Warmates

They were loaded with the love of nation
They were free of spiritual and bodily
temptations
They were the green sincerity of "The Word"
Warmates, Warmates

Warmates were the heroes of dignity
For all their lives, they have struggled only for one goal
Until they opened the doors of freedom
Warmates, Warmates

Warmates were like the rain drops
Pure and honest, they were Warmates to all lovers
They were the lion and sun of the Iranian Flag
Warmates, Warmates

They have risen up and become martyrs
They have climbed beyond the inferior human needs
They have reached the pure human integrity
Warmates, Warmates

They have risen and died for us
They have died amongst our arms
They have left us the pieces of motherland
Warmates, Warmates

The children who will born tomorrow
Will know about the story of our Warmates
Will read their names upon the sunrise
Warmates, Warmates

Where are those brave men and women today?
That our existence is due to their uprising!
That their hearts are beating inside the Iranian Flag!
Warmates, Warmates

Once again, we will all come together
We will speak of our Warmates
We will write in the history and on the sorrow, about our,
Warmates, Warmates

Thousands of springs and summers will come and go
Thousands of snows and rains will fall
Masses will once again cherish "The essence of Love"
By the will of our,
Warmates, Warmates ……
